RENĀTE PRANCĀNE: Kim? Contemporary Art Centre – a place to meet art

January 4th, 2018

We provide regular exhibitions in Riga, create exhibitions in the regions of Latvia, and regularly organise the participation of Latvian artists in contemporary art exhibitions abroad. Kim? Contemporary Art Centre was founded in 2009. Since then, we have organised more than 160 exhibitions and become one of the most active contemporary art centres in Latvia, which has also gained international recognition.

In September 2016, Kim? opened a new exhibition space at 2 Sporta Street. This was an important event not only for us but also for the area and its inhabitants. The new space made it possible to develop a rich educational programme, as well as to hold regular lectures, seminars, readings and performances open to interested audiences. We regularly organise Children’s Days when the smallest visitors can participate in educational workshops and tours. For older kids, we have begun an initiative youngkim? This is an event programme and an internet platform for works of young people and the exchange of ideas.
