One of the treasures of Veseta Street surroundings is the architectural monument built in 1910, which used to be a real fire station. Now the attractive building, built in the eclecticism brick style, serves as a Latvian Fire Fighting Museum for the local community with its fascinating history. Here you can find out about the development of fire safety, fire-fighting and the equipment, and the bravest ones can try their hand at extinguishing a fire using a simulator.
The area across from the building is called Fire-Fighters Square; it will be made into a cultural centre, where monuments will be installed for fire-fighters and rescuers for their heroic work.
Our neighbourhood continues to grow quickly, adding not only a variety of entertainment, but more importantly, developing more places where people have the opportunity to learn something new and explore history.
